The premise of Theology of Money is people have 4 Core Soul Needs:

Identity • Purpose • Peace • Love

These drive their emotions and behavior. These Core Soul Needs can only be permanently realized in a truly satisfying way through spirituality that encompasses and transcends the physical world. People use various approaches to meet their Core Soul Needs, most of which include pursuits in the physical world, which rely on money to be achieved.

However, the best that money can satisfy Core Soul Needs is to provide prestige, power, protection and pleasure, which meet important emotional needs but are not permanently satisfying.
